The brief from Vicroads was to create a comfortable and attractive local environment, at a minimal distance from the highway, as a refuge for road-weary drivers and passengers; to entice them to rest, use the toilet facilities, have a snack and stretch their legs before continuing on their journey.
The facilities comprise of an amenity block, roofed picnic shelters, covered parking shelter, open car and bus parking, and separate parking for trucks and semi-trailers, in a quiet landscaped setting linked by a series of pedestrian pathways.
