Gregory Burgess Architects were appointed as architects for the conversion of the existing hospital into a rejuvenated community health facility, accommodating a variety of general and specialist practitioners. Working to a tight budget the resulting design created a welcoming, light-filled facility, successfully adapted to meet the needs of a modern medical practice. Externally, a carefully composed series of welcoming curves, in the form of retaining walls, planter boxes and the main entry canopy, guide visitors into the centre. Once inside, an uplifting atmosphere is created through the use of colour, natural light and ceiling detailing.
